Australian Visa For Thai Wife Of Brit Working In Australia

Featured Replies

What would be the least stressful Australian visa application for the Thai wife of a Brit working in Australia? The Brit spouses tentative work is shore-based support for work offshore NW shelf, based most likely in Karratha. The job will be anything from 8 to 18 months. The couple have been married 5 years, have a son and the farang is on Non-O (marriage) extensions in Thailand. I realize the Thai immigration status of the farang may mean little to the Thai spouses Australian visa decision unlike it's validity for a UK visit visa application. She has already had 3 UK visit visas and made 5 visits there as well as a few local foreign trips.

Thanks,

NL

More to the point what's his Thai wife going to do in Karratha of all places,it's very isolated, expensive and extremely hot,I have no input on the visa situation (sorry) and wish him every success in getting her there, but I feel these should be taken into consideration before they plan a long term move unless that is she will join him for his R&R in which case he would be better of returning to Thailand.

The guy has been based in Karratha before and knows what it is like.

Would appreciate any advice on the best/easiest Australian visa that would allow the Thai wife to spend time there.

Thanks,

NL
