16 year old transsexual arrested following Ukraine Necklace Snatch on Pattaya Beach

PATTAYA:--A 16 year old transsexual was arrested early on Friday after claiming he was forced into conducting a necklace snatch.

Officers were called to the front of a Bangkok Bank Branch on Pattaya Beach just before 3am where members of the public had detained the 16 year old, who was suspected of snatching a gold necklace from around the neck of a Russian Tourist, Mr. Roman Demchuk aged 23 from Ukraine. The necklace was then handed to two other transsexuals, known only as Khun Zam and Khun Khai, who are now the subject of a manhunt by Pattaya Police.

Mr. Demchuk, who was walking along the street with his girlfriend towards their Hotel, was confronted by the suspect who was riding as passenger on a motorbike which pulled up beside the pair. The suspect dismounted and lunged towards Mr. Demchuk whose necklace was snatched from around his neck. The 20,000 Baht piece of gold was then handed to the other two transsexuals who drove off in the direction of Walking Street. The arrestee claimed he had no intention of conducting the robbery but was forced into it by the other two assailants.
