Bulk Buying Vitamin C (Acetic Acid), Magnesium (Epsom Salts), Etc, In Bkk

Featured Replies

Was just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy Vitamin C (acetic acid) or Magnesium (Epsom Salts) in bulk, in Bangkok or Chiang Mai?

A poster on another threat said that he got a Kilo of Vit C for 200 B - clearly a bargain, comwpared to what I pay in the pharmacy for a small pkt of tablets!

Any pointers for the chemical stores selling such items in bulk?

Thanks.

ascorbic acid is used in many foods, maybe a shop that sells food additives sells it?

Maybe I said it wrong. I bought a kilo of citric acid for 200 baht. I don't thinki citric acid has any vit C in it. I bought it for cleaning.

A Thai pharmacist told me they cannot stock Vit C in powder form as it spoils too quickly.

On a brighter note, there's plenty of ViTamin D in sunlight formbiggrin.png

That is nonsense....if he keeps it dry it will stay for years.....I put mine in the fridge to keep it dry, but there are other ways.

Sorry to highjack this thread (I don't have the answer to the OP question anyway) but it's not the first time that people ask about vitamin and supplements.

If one has a balanced diet and no particular medical condition, does one really need supplements ? I mean, if I I eat lot of fruits, do I really need vit C supplement ?

Who the hell needs to buy bulk quantities of Vitamin C?

Are you by any chance a 16th Century Captain of a pirate ship? ermm.gif

Want to prevent your crew from coming down with scurvy?? sick.gif

Spot on! Maybe the OP is a fruit allergic. Interestingly i learned smoking increases the body's need for vitamin C. It' s really true! I have to eat fruit to get back on level... As a smoker...

This one is more thorough.. It talk about smoking breaks down vitamin C and needs to be " refilled" daily.

If you can choose between pills or fruit, why choose the pills?

OK so I go to the chemical store and buy 1 kilo of food grade acetic acid. I am on my way home looking at this plactic bag with a kilo of white powder in it. Dear Lord, don't let a cop stop me. When I tell him it's vitamin C and why I need one kilo of vitamin C. It was 200 baht for 1 kilo BTW. I do speak Thai and I told the guy at the chemical store it was for washing vegetables. You could see the look in his eye. This Farang is cutting a whole lot of drugs with one kilo.smile.png

LOL.

Yes, I am a pirate nietzche, how did you guess?
