Nuttawut meets Thaksin in Hong Kong but politics "not on agenda"

BANGKOK: -- Deputy Agricultural Minister Nuttawut Saikua on Tuesday admitted he met fugitive ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra in Hong Kong last weekend but says politics did not enter into their discussions.

Nuttawut travelled to Hong Kong with Jatuporn Prompan, a red leader, who is tipped to join the government of Yingluck Shinawatra, Thaksin's sister.

Nuttawut said he had some errands to run in Hong Kong while Jatuporn wanted to take a short vacation. They took advantage of their visit to meet Thaksin, which was a normal thing to do, as they had not seen each other for a long time.

Asked about the reshuffle, he said all decisions were to the prime minister.

The minister guaranteed with his honour and dignity that during the meeting with Thaksin, they did not talk about domestic politics.

Thaksin convey his concerns to red shirts who are detained or injured, urging them to look after one another and provide each other with moral support.

A reshuffle of Yingluck government seems imminent following Yongyuth Wichaidit's resignation as deputy prime minister last week. Many politicians seeking cabinet seats have been seen travelling to Hong Kong to meet Thaksin although Yingluck has insisted there will be no reshuffle.

Silliest headline I've seen since 'Slut Defends Reputation' in National Lampoon

Aren't these blokes all pending prosecution of god knows what? Shouldn't they have surrendered their passports. I mean, who lets people out on bail to visit places, it isn't as though they haven't got some rather pointed history of people absconding on bail.

The deputy agriculture minister had some errands to run? This man is supposed to be a member of the government not a messenger boy.

Anyway he then talks about a Thai politician's honour and dignity...... so we know he must be lying.

I must have been mistaked, I thought both of these gentermen had there passports taken as part of the bail. cheesy.gif

Why is it that when EVERY PTP and wannabe politician goes to visit Thaksin somewhere politics is NEVER on the agenda even though they only go to visit a convicted fugitive?

I can understand that they have to convince their supporters of their love for Thaksin but I fail to understand the contempt they show for everyone.

Do they assume that people actually believe what they say?

The minister guaranteed with his honour and dignity... such as it is!

The whore meets its "John"

The minister guaranteed with his honour and dignity that during the meeting with Thaksin, they did not talk about domestic politics.

What DID they discuss then? Or did they perhaps exchange cooking recipes (Thaksin ought to have some great ones for hummus and lamb curry by now).

Best point so far! Why are they traveling outside the country?

I happened to have been travelling out of Swampy last Saturday evening and saw a small group of police and assorted arselickers swarming ahead of me, blocking off the travelators that head out towards the gates in the 'C' wing. I walked alongside and overtook them to see the unmistakeable figure of Jatuporn towards the front of the group. At first I though they were heading for Dubai, which was the flight I was catching, and would have made for an interesting trip had one of them been sitting beside me, but remembered Thaksin was in Hong Kong. Sure enough, the next occupied gate was for TG to Hong Kong. I can well understand the police following a couple of criminals out on bail when they try to leave the country, but in most countries it would be in order to drag them back, not to wave them goodbye.

It's a bit like David Beckham goes to see Sir Alex Ferguson and him saying they did not talk about football once.

Now, what kind of lie is this? Can not be a white one, can it?

a "taking the piss" one, maybe

A guy with balls would speak the truth.

A guy with balls would speak the truth.

Sorry, this feature is not available on red shirts at this stage Sir

What?????????????????????? no Pardon Thaksin Party defenders? I'm shocked and amazed. I know they have been up for a while. They must all be on a visa run.

Two questions

1 Will Jutaporn come Back?

2 What position will Nuttawut Saikua be promoted to?

Actually 3 questions. With all the ass kissing do you tink Thaksin has a chapped Ass.?

And American Pecan Pie, Spanish paella, English Roast Lamb, Italian Pizza, German Bratwurst etc. etc

They really take their people for idiots !

They really take their people for idiots !

Well if the shoe fits.........

They really take their people for idiots !

Well, based on the results, "their people" seem to prove them right.

Didn't talk politics. I believe them. Now where did I put the deed to my beachfront property in Arizona? whistling.gif

dam_n - everyone beat me on the point "on his honour and integrity" - the two things that do not exist in any red shirt party member (or most of the dems for that matter). Good thing we were not talking about police...

I suppose it's like Suthep going to Anupong's residence on several occassions and saying it had nothing to do with the formation of the Dem coalition government. HAHAHA

Now, what kind of lie is this? Can not be a white one, can it?

a "taking the piss" one, maybe

What kind of lie ? Clearly a typical red one ! tongue.png

For all the wrongs these guys do there is one underlying fact (which speaks volumes about a myriad of aspects of thainess) that no matter how much their opponents hate it, the divisions it creates in society. These PTP MP will continue to visit Taksin as its almost a pilgrimage (like Muslims and Mecca) that they all need to make once in their political life to prove their the 'good guys' and the voters love it.

So long as the pilgrimage is made once, the voters will forgive all other sins (corruption, murder, treason) and vote them back in time after time after time.

So there probably was no agenda discussed. The visit was the agenda.

Politics wasn't on the agenda, and my pricks a kipper.

You are charitable in the use of the word " gentle men", since after viewing their Oscar winning performances at the Ratchaprasong Love-in in 2010, I would be more inclined to call them Bully Boys.

Shouldn't that be, "The Pimp meets his whores?"

edit spelling.

The OP suggests a different agenda, 'some errands to run and just using the opportunity to say hello to an old friend'

Nuttawut said he had some errands to run in Hong Kong while Jatuporn wanted to take a short vacation. They took advantage of their visit to meet Thaksin, which was a normal thing to do, as they had not seen each other for a long time.
