Education Credits

Featured Replies

Does anyone know about getting education credits here in Thailand? Where can you study to do this? What qualifications are needed to study? What are the costs and hours?

If you mean postgraduate courses toward a degree like M.Ed. or MA-TESOL, search the web for universities in Thailand that teach postgraduate education courses in English. Just don't be too sure that such a degree will impress the personnel department at Oxbridge, Camford or OxFam.

If you mean credits toward being accepted to teach at a school in Thailand because some twit in the admin department (or some twit doing the hiring) thinks you need them, search elsewhere for employment. Nobody knows what this requirement is, or if there even is such a requirement, it's not known to have ever been enforced by the gubmint. True, actual international schools in Thailand, of the highest international standard (all three of them) would require you to have a right proper snootey-tootey degree in education.

There's a a course thru ABAC that qualifies you to teach primary / secondary ... abut 30,000+ baht a semester, I think. Know a few who are on the course .... hours are something like 6-9pm most nights plus weekends. Not too sure of the other details, but know that it's mostly (if not all) foreigners in the program.
