Hi all,

Have recently joined your forum & find it very informative & helpful. I have searched the threads in this forum so far without success regarding the topic above.

We are currently finishing building a house in Pattaya & are looking for a company or person to design & outfit the kitchen, living areas & bedrooms. The kitchen is probably the biggest of the jobs. I have visited some of the kitchen design companies in Pattaya & their designs tend to be more suitable to a condo that a large house. I sat with 1 of the designers for a couple of hours showing them photos of what we required & doing drawings & measurements only to be told that their tradesmen couldn't do that. i guess templates for Condos are in the factories & thats what they make.

If anyone can recommend a company that can handle this. Maybe interior designer or even a very good tradesman that would take the job on I would be very grateful. It would equate to a large amount of work as there are 6 bedrooms, office & 2 large living areas to be done plus wall cabinets & some outdoor areas as well.

If you are looking for someone to do the lot –then I cannot help.

If however you are prepared to separate the unit manufacture from the installation .

I have had bespoke furniture manufacture to my spec. from 2 Pattaya suppliers .-Both of which have produced excellent results

1. Home Works –Sukumwit/ Sth Pattaya Rd
   

They 100% used Plywood at their ‘woodshop’

1. MAITHONG furniture
   

Again they supply bespoke (Factory in Chiang Mai) –Only supply in solid teak.

There sales room is situated in the area in front of Home works main entrance.

Spec for spec the teak is cheaper

Reference getting a tradesman to do the installation.

I have employed them directly –or via a English speaking –Middle men

The latter has produced the best results The Middle men know the best tradesmen it seems. Thai tradesman direct speak no English typically and seem to be more concerned about getting max cash for minimum work. Always they need money upfront. With middle men I have only paid when the job is complete.

I can highly recommend the guy who did our house. He does a great job with the design and also does the build out. He's done a number of showrooms around Pattaya, stores in Central Festival, and lots of homes and condos. He's not the cheapest, but does a great job and stands behind his work. Sorry, they're laminate! In the kitchen are just terracotta pavers that we had sealed with a gloss finish...would never do that again...

To all thanks for the great info has given us a start. Will let you all know how we get on.

Floors currently being laid downstairs, then the windows, sliding doors to be installed.

Things are moving quite well since the missus got rid of the contractor & started working with the builder & sub contractors direct.

Having someone to take care of the finishing with be a relief for her, hence a big relief for me.

To all BMs that replies & sent PMs thanks for all the help. I was not able to get back to Pattaya as early as I wished & the misses has found a cabinet maker thru a friend of hers that had done some work for them. Things look promising, we shall see.

Just a few photos from the new house. Ceilings & trimming in place, new windows & doors installed , we are progressing. Need some more fill for the outside but with all the rain the sandpit where they get the fill from is flooded so hoping the weather breaks soon.

Does condos and homes. Has own furniture factory with large staff. Often busy and tends to be on higher end of the scale. High quality workman ship and materials. Highly recommended.
