Think I may have made a silly mistake.

Seems that VFS have changed a few things since last week regarding the Schengen Visa process.

The name payable on the Postal Order has changed from made payable to The German Application Centre to VFS Services Ltd (although in different places on the website is says both)

The service fee is £17:00 last week it was £16:00 (£17:00 + £1:20 for status update)

Also now you must fill in the online form and print it, I used a form from the Embassy website.

When I got back from the Post Office I had a hunch to check the VFS website, thats when I found my possible errors!

So, what I did was start filling in the forms etc last weekend with the purpose of sending the forms today....which I did !

What I didnt do is put the new payable name on the Postal Order, or use the Online application form.

I did however pay the correct fee.

Should I expect the forms etc sent back to be corrected???

Thanks

Yeah the visa is free, but the Germany Embassy have outsourced and now there is a service fee, which last weekend was £16.00 + £1.20 text message but this weekend is £17.00 + £1.20 text message.

Everything now gets sent to Manchester, then I presume they forward onto the Embassy in London

this is from the website -:

Please see the fee list to ensure you are providing a postal order with the correct amount. EU family members: £18.20; National of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Republic of Yugoslavia £47.20 and all others £67.20.

Postal Applications

Spouses of EU and German nationals and certain categories of travellers can also apply by post. Please note that from 31 August 2012 postal applications need to be sent to Manchester:

Joint Visa Application Centre

40 Princess Street

Manchester

M1 6DE

Further information can be found on the VFS website:http://www.vfsglobal.com/germany/uk/allaboutvisas.html

Please note that no postal applications can be sent to the Embassy anymore. Postal applications that are addressed to the Embassy will be returned to the sender without being processed!!!

There is a service charge of £17.00 (inclusive of VAT) per application over and above the visa fees payable by all applicants

So the visa is still free, its just a prepossessing charge.

ll Germany postal applications must be sent to Joint Visa Application Centre, 40 Princess Street, Manchester, M1 6DE.

Before you send your application, please check if you fall under the right jurisdiction to be applicable to apply by post to avoid disappointment as your documents will be returned to you.

To apply for German visa by post, please ensure you meet the requirements for postal applications or your documents will be returned to you. You may only apply by post if you meet one of the following:

Correct, just as i said!

It seems the days of German efficency have gone, as I have heard some bad things about VFS (UK)

The VFS website id full of contradictions regarding forms, payee etc

Anyway, our application has been sent and will arrive at VFS monday morning.

I will update regarding our experience.
