jbrain
If you enter the serial 9VS2VF9D into Synnex warranty checker, it shows you the info for 9VS30BGN instead, I have no idea why... Maybe they have reserved that one already for when I sent them back their crap disk.Anyway this is the warranty check of their website Synnex mailt me this morning. jbrain
Perhaps it's a new drive they prepared for you as a replacement for 9VS3T743, which has been used as SMART indicates? So on the next to send disk they gonne cut my warranty by an additional 3 months
jbrain
Further update as Seagate continues to mail me.Not with apologies, however they would be warranted, but further excuses and accusations that I'm a liar. The latest is that they cut my warranty by 2 years because I didn't REQUEST that the warranty terms from the original purchased disk should be respected. Below is the email I was so lucky to receive from Seagate today. Dear XXXXX, Thank you for the detail provided. I might have lost a point, let me verify your request. You received 9VS3T743 as a replacement, but this drive has only 3years warranty, you missed about 2 years since your previous drive 9VS2VF9D had 5 years warranty. So you're requesting same warranty period with your new drive 9VS3T743? If so,this is very difficult to extend warranty period since there is no purchase receipt, and this is not only our fault, but I will escalate your case yo warranty department and request do it so. Sorry for the inconvenience. Yoshimi H Technical Support Specialist Global SeaCare Solutions Customer Service Operations (CSO) Seagate IHQ http://www.seagate.c...ontact-support/ Keep in mind, as I posted in earlier posts , that both Seagate and Synnex have acknowledeged by email that they are aware of the manufacturing date, distribution date and warranty period of the disk I turned in and in their possession at the moment.Yet they deny me warranty because JIB computer didn't enter the serial number of the disk on the purchase receipt. So if you buy a new car today, and for some reason you lose your receipt the next day, you will have no warranty anymore. You think this is logical way of doing business? I hope as many people possible read my experiences and make their own conclusions when they are in need of a new harddisk.
