Requirements For Having My Name Put On Owners Title - When Buying New Cae

I want to buy a new truck when I return again. Plan to put it in GF's name as well as my own. What is required to have my name on owners title??? I don't have a thai license yet either.

To get a Residence Certificate from US embassy in Bangkok - what is required...??

I stay with GF and our new baby girl at her house in Sakon Nakhon. I have baby's birth certificate with me listed as baby's father translated to english.

I know.....so many questions but I'm trying to get my ducks lined so when I get to Bangkok I can get things done quickly................Thanks in advance for any info.

You cannot have 2 names on the Blue Registration Book

If your name you will need a residence certificate from immigration (approx 200 baht)

and Copies of your passport

So, I guess my idea of having both my name and GF's name on owners title isn't going to work. Since I'm not there fulltime guess I'll put in GF's name. Thanks

I think the way to go is have the truck in your name EVEN if you are not there all the time. Further down the road circumstances could change and you would be left walking. smile.png

what ever happens you should register the vehicle in your name. if it is in your GF's name it is her truck..period

even if you think every thing is great and nothing can go wrong...many things can.

example : if in her name she could refinance the truck without you knowing..thats just one of many.

That's one thing I never gave a thought to - excellent point.......thanks

Put it in your name.

Go to what ever dealer you are going to buy the new pickup from and tell them you want it in your name.

They will tell you exactly what you have to do and what you have to sign.

Most dealers have someone who speaks some english.

IN YOUR NAME.
