Why Do Some Foreigners in Thailand Still Call Other Foreigners “Farang” and is it Cringe?
Utterly and completely clueless. Explains a lot. But keep going, got to keep up the 100+ per day post count, that's the most important thing!! Go you! -

Transfer USA Social Security to Bangkok Bank using International Direct Deposit
Just a word of caution. If you change your address at Fidelity to a non-US address, Fidelity may put restrictions on your account. I changed my address to Thailand a few years ago and Fidelity restricted my account, so I changed back to my US address. -

Trump: EU was formed to 'screw' the United States
The cult followers are so blind. The US without the EU is nothing. And vice versa, but I think the EU could survive better without the US than the US could without Europe. Hopefully we will find out soon when America retreats up its own backside and is cut off by its former EU partners. The world will laugh. -

Nong Khai visa run
So just to offer a little anecdotal information. When I exited Thai immigration in early January I was somewhat alarmed when the Thai IO offered the opinion that I might be ok for a quick turnaround that time but don't count on it again. This was contrary to the accepted wisdom of the day. Fortunately for my Feb 28th run I heeded his warning and used a very well connected agent out of Udon Thani and events proceeded without a hitch. But while on the Laos side it was obvious there were a number of distraught farang and the number of people crossing the border was significantly reduced compared to previous visits. The agent informed me that as of about 1 month ago immigration has decided the multiple visa exempt entry days are over. The basic position is that after 90 days (60 +30) it's time to move on and reenter on a touist visa from an Embassy in a foreign country or begin the Non O visa process. The rationale for this limited or no notice about this change of policy seems to be , simply put , that this has always been within any IO discretion. Can't argue with that. But the driving force seems to be the increasing need to monitor the where abouts of bad actors. These are just observations from my experience today and I hope with this foresight everyone can enjoy this country free of border crossing anxiety going forward. If the above seems incorrect please accept the advice of Dr. Jack and other experts on this forum who are more informed than me. -

Entirely financed by China Pakistan’s Costly New Gwadar Airport Stands Empty
It's how it has been working in Africa until approximately 2016. I read somewhere, that for the longest time Africans had little opportunity to enrich themselves, so if they are in power. They have a very limited timeframe to fill their pockets enough for the rest of his life and his family, as well as kickbacks to the village he was born. Some leaders made their birth village the new capital, such as Ivory coast. Then again, the birth village of the leader is as good as any other choice, as long as it's somewhat central and protected against invasions from neighboring countries 😂- 1

Entirely financed by China Pakistan’s Costly New Gwadar Airport Stands Empty
Well I am here crying over spoilt milk, for every country which indebted itself to China could in fact have negotiated free construction, materials and infrastructure, in Exchange for compliments to the leadership of China. Nepal and Bhutan and I could name a few more are in debt because of bad negotiation skills.- 1
