Foreign national hurt in hit-and-run accident in South Pattaya

PATTAYA:--A foreign national was hurt in a suspected hit-and-run road accident on the Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya, late on Saturday Night.

The offending vehicle was later found and its driver, also a foreign national, was arrested and additionally charged with drunk driving. The incident occurred at the intersection with the South Pattaya Road just after 11pm. The injured driver of a Honda PCX motorbike, whose name and nationality is unknown, was given emergency treatment and taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital where his injuries were found to be relatively minor considering the force of the impact by a pick-up which was seen to leave the scene following the crash.

Witnesses stated the offending vehicle was a Toyota Land Cruiser pick-up and was also being driven by a foreign national. Officers located the vehicle matching the description given by witnesses close-by, in front of the Highway Police Station. Front-end damage to the vehicle was evident and its driver, whose name and nationality is also not known, was suspected of being drunk by Police. He vehemently denied allegations he was involved in the crash despite the evidence collected by witnesses and the front-end damage to the truck which was consistent with a recent collision with a smaller vehicle according to Police.

Seems Thais aren't the only ones not stopping after an accident. This Thai traith seems to have caught on to drunk farang drivers too.

If he is guilty i hope he stays in jail a long time and gets deported.. drunk driving.. hit and run... should be enough to get rid of him.
