[Myanmar] Acer May Set Up Office In Burma

Acer, the world’s fourth-largest personal computer maker, is thinking of opening up an office in Burma, according to a report by The Bangkok Post. The company recently established a new US $1.6 million service and maintenance center in Thailand to serve as a hub for Burma, Laos and Cambodia, and is now considering setting up offices in each of these countries, the report said, noting that Burma would be a priority due to its large population. The move is part of a plan to expand the company’s operations in the region ahead of the establishment of the Asean Economic Community in 2015.

Interesting that the article says Acer is 'thinking about' setting up a store here - there is a brand new Acer store around the corner on Mahabandoola Street... I guess they are already here.
