yes u read it correct !

l know where to find 1,000baht/month 48m2 ground floor room4rent near Pattaya,

l know of 2 vacancies as of this post date,

these 2 vacancies became available today !

so after posting this they may go very quickly,

so l expect if u read this a week or more after 25Oct'12 then most likely no longer available.

the ACTUAL rate is 1,500baht/month,

still VERY cheap !

but the Thai landlord will discount down to 1k/m if u pay 1 year in advance,

now if ur a fussy farang who can't handle living in a thai style room,

then ur wasting ur time reading this,

but these rooms would also be suitable as low cost STORE rooms,

located in a muslim area 5km from central Pattaya beach,

not many farangs live around here,

no aircon,

no fan,

no furniture at all,

thai style squat toilet,

electric, water, cable & internet available at extra cost,

parking available for motorbike only,

no onsite car parking available.

that should read l know, not L know, couldn't edit it, maybe mods can?

some more info -

both front a shared driveway from the street,

being a very quiet dead-end concrete street,

very little road noise,

sometimes hear dogs, roosters & neighbors,

neighbors beside & above r fairly quiet,

same goes for other neighbors,

not within a gated security compound,

1 available room is at the front,

the other behind it,

so next door to each other,

so possible to have 98m2 for 2k/m,

whether u can join them is up to the landlord,

both open plan with small covered front porch,

& 2 small rear rooms,

1 room is the bathroom with bare concrete floor,

no tiles at all - floor drains to a waste,

no vanity or sink,

only 2 wall taps,

with 1 having a crappy shower hose attached,

& 1 wall tap in the other room,

2 windows - 1 front & 1 back,

front window beside front door,

no back door.

There are lots of Thai places like that ,some just outside our village ,but would you want to live like that? i doubt it .

Sounds like some of the Dumps I used to stay at in LOS, when Back Packing. Thinking I,ll save Money. Thank <deleted> I know better NEVER AGAIN.

There are plenty of good, newly built, similar rooms to this in that price range around Huay Yai, 10 to 15 minutes from Pattaya - the difference is that they are tiled, quiet, pleasant, have hand basins, mosquito nets, etc.

It may sound cheap but considering you can get an almost new room, fully furished, TV, Air Hot shower WiFi in a good area for 4,000

I'd be keen on something like this for my gik, where in Pattaya will I find such a dwelling ?

That would be 'Gig'....unless you already have a 'proper' girlfriend. ;)

Meh you can tell the story.

Been with the same "proper" girlfriend for 5 years, we got engaged 2 years ago.

Screw the Thai semantics and lets just call the "other" a fuc_k buddy.

location?

well if ur standing on Pattaya beach where Pattaya Klang starts,

then head along Pattaya Klang directly away from the beach for 5 km,

ur there

Once at the traffic lights on Suk road you cannot keep going straight ahead so I assume you are talking about Nern Plub Wan (Soi 53), in which case you turn left at the loights and do a u-turn at the siam country club lights and keeping left turn into the soi at the 7/11 on the corner past Numchai.
