Pig Face

Featured Replies

Anyone know how those pig faces are prepared? Are they baked, boiled? What causes their eyes to crinkle in Santa Clause smiles? What causes the orangey "suntan?"

are you talking about a woman or what, im confused.

I thought pigface was a plant?

They boil them.

We bought 9 of them as an offering to a temple several years ago.

Then took them back to the in-laws afterwards where they were eaten and washed down with saki.

I took a pic cause no one in the west would believe me.

Chalerm?

Ugh. sick.gif

I've tasted the pigs head prepared in many ways, but not that orange thingy. A roll like this is delicious: http://www.holytaco.com/behold-cured-rolled-face/

so they are boiled?

I must agree, Makes me think of Cannibals. bah.gif

so they are boiled?

I'd guess so. Stir frying would probably make the ears curl. The color is probably from the broth they're boiled in, perhaps the Chinese Five Spice ? I think this might be an import from China.

so they are boiled?

Yes.

The Santa Clause/Chalerm look is likely because of the fat tissues being located on the cheeks. Yummy. Put that thing to pieces and into noodle soup.... w00t.gif

Good to know incase i end up on a game show. i thought they were baked or grilled.

That pig pic is scary, where's my slingshot!

It's like chicken feet. They're pretty good if you don't think about what your eating.

Yes, they are boiled. The wifes family has them when ever they have a party. We buy 5 or 6 and boil them in a large pot over charcol for 4 to 6 hours and then cut them into small pieces with a dipping sauce and iced beer. Personally I have never tried it. Pork chops are much better.

Look its the 3 little pigs said the big bad wolf!

When I was a kid living in colonial Africa we always gave our houseboy and his family a pigs head at Christmas along with the regular monthly supply of meat.

You said never tried it (pig heads) and then you say pork chops are much better?? Did I miss something or did you drink all the iced beer before postingbiggrin.png
