Why does every thread have to descend into some anti-Thaksin vitriol?

Because he is the root of all current evil in Thailand. And the sooner people stop pandering to and idolizing this two-bit fool and think for themselves, the sooner the country may be able to move forward.

There... I said it.

I would hardly call him 2 bit. He's got more money than you and I will ever see in our lifetimes.

I wonder if he would have got off so lightly if he was a yellow shirt supporter. Survival might have even been a problem.

Driving the wrong way against oncoming traffic? He should have used the argument 'if motorcycles can do it, why can't taxis?'.

And where does it say he is a red shirt supporter?

Excellent. Good for him. Now we just need another few million to protest

I take it that you don't agree with democracy.

200 baht democracy? No

Just democracy at the end of a tanks gun barrel then?

You mean protesting to get rid of a democratically elected government? So protesters should be have more of a say than voters?

In a democracy, they should be able to protest for whatever reason they like. As long as it's a peaceful protest.

The same guy was also at it back in August:

A drunk Bangkok taxi driver purposely drove his car into the gates of Thailand’s Parliament earlier this week.

Dusit district police detained Mr. Pongpichan Thanathirapong for crashing into the front gates of Parliament while honking in his pink taxi.

Police checked his blood alcohol and found that he was indeed inebriated and found many small tanks of cooking gas in his trunk.

It was never about compensating people, it was a cheap publicity move which was flawed because once you start paying some people money you have to pay everyone or face the jealousy backlash.

PTP is built on lies from Day One, starting with the shocking electoral claims that Yingluck & her oligarchical crime family are somehow representatives of the working class, and nosediving from there with every further shameless lie she has spouted. And like always happens when you lie to people constantly, they eventually get angry and come looking for you.

That said, I don't condone dangerous driving, its just that it shows the desperation and disenchantment of working class Thais when faced with the schemery and callousness displayed by this distant & uncaring corporate crime family.

Good post, thanks. Yunla it´s good to see you´r back on TV.wai2.gif

That is so different from the other vile scumbags, who do exactly the same?

Other vile scumbags don't have a team of supporters popping up to defend their every vile move. If everyone simply agreed that Thaksin was a vile scumbag, and what he was doing was vile, there would be very little left to talk about and debates would be over much quicker, because there would be nothing to debate.

...oh puuuuuleeeeeeeaze...!!!

Actually the OP doesn't say, just that "Pongpicharn said he tried to disrupt the prime minister's motorcade to bring to her attention the fact that he had not received compensation in relation to the 2010 red-shirt protests." It might very well be that his income had dropped significantly when during March - May 2010 normally already busy areas in Bangkok were completely blocked by the UDD led protests wai.gif

Thaksin wants more than one million baht.
