SONGKHLA, Oct 26 - Songkhla's Ban Prakob border crossing point in Na Thawi district bordering Malaysia is soon to be fully opened to welcome the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

Seems there soon will be another option for doing borderruns in the South.

Will I be able to get a Non B visa or just 2 tourist visa here? NO thai consulate on malay side?

AEC is 2015 so don't hold your breath. No there will not be any Consulate there - it will just be an alternate sea path to Penang for freight shipments in my reading.
