thunder30101
Ummm maybe you didnt notice you were in a communist country ? That could have something to do with censorship.
brewsterbudgen
Ummm maybe you didnt notice you were in a communist country ? That could have something to do with censorship. Er, I don't think so. More likely a problem with the hotel's internet connection. There's no problem with Facebook etc in Laos.

bendejo
I've stayed in Lao for months on end. Never had a site censorship problem. Connections can get pretty lousy at times.

What about this article? http://en.wikipedia...._Map.svg&page=1 What about it? It shows Laos as having 'no evidence of censorship'. In fact it's the only 'green' country in the area!! RandomSand
I was in Savvakhet last month and used an Internet cafe that had a Thai TOT connection... no problems. A few hours earlier in Bangkok I'd bought a 3G add-on on my AIS payg SIM. Normally AIS send a SMS service message after 23hrs informing me that "you data plan will end soon" or something to that effect. I received no such message in Laos, despite supposedly being connected to the AIS network as normal. I also note that, whilst incoming calls were received without issue, I found it difficult to make outgoing calls. Also; any calls made to check balance - for example *121# (forget exact code as its in my phonebook) - DID NOT WORK. Draw your own conclusions! Meisgq
No known censorship in Laos - been there many times. However, I've never tried porn sites.
