The police are to blame first, and the media second. Where are the investigative reporters? Oh thats right this is the land of "dont step on the puyais toes". What about the police chief who declared he would step down if they didn't bring the perpetrator to justice?

Out and about in his new Ferrari I suspect.

Everyone knows that, if given the opportunity, the police will let this disappear.

Stories like this happen all over the world. The powerful will do whatever they can to make this situation go away.

In the States, the press will usually bombarde the brainless with stories of fluff and fantasy, in hopes of burying stories their editors have been directed to avoid. The press has always been the body that has kept people honest. Unfortunately, they have become part of the machine they are supposed to monitor.

In Thailand, it has been documented that most people already don't care, as long as they benefit, or are not affected adversely. Just let the story die, and it's like it never happened.
