Got an email announcing Etihad are increasing luggage allowance up to 30kg for economy, plus if you are a Guest member (Silver) you can add another 10kg giving a whopping 40kg for Economy passengers.

Yes I know, but its always good to know of alternatives and in most cases Etihad is cheaper than Emirates.

I used to fly with them regularly untill they lowered their baggage allowance about two years ago when I stopped using them.I wrote them and said it was a not a clever move,I have been using Emirates since for my 30 kgs.Good to know I have another option again from Manchester uk

Yep, it's really useful having the extra luggage allowance. I have started using Etihad recently, and can't fault them. With my card now I get 40k, so no way will I be flying with any airlines doing 20k in Economy. The biz class flightswith Etihad are pretty reasonable to.

All flights, I flew back yesterday and had done a lot of shopping in the UK, so the increase was very welcome
