BANGKOK: -- Opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva has submitted a motion accusing Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra of being incompetent, ineffective as a leader and failing to implement the policies her government declared to Parliament and the people.

In the motion, he also alleged that the government's anti-corruption policies were just a tool to boost its image, because signs of selective actions and malfeasance were uncovered. The government reportedly also allowed massive spending that only benefited certain groups of people.

The Opposition alleged that Yingluck had diminished the rule of law and good governance. Also, she has failed to show responsibility as premier and has opted for nepotism.

In the motion for censure debate, the opposition also accused Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung, Defence Minister Sukampol Suwannathat and Deputy Interior Minister Chatt Kuldiloke of lacking in morality and failing in their duties. They, too, have been accused of nepotism and rewarding people who allow them to benefit personally. In addition, the motion also accused other ministers of actions that can be seen as corruption and malfeasance.

Though the Opposition has not disclosed the exact issues it will raise for debate, Sukampol is expected to be scrutinised for making unfair changes in the military, involving former permanent secretary of defence General Sathien Permthong-in and his deputy. He also faces scrutiny over alleged corruption related to rehabilitation and repair of flood-affected roads.

Chatt, meanwhile, is expected to face scrutiny over construction projects and road repairs worth Bt16 billion carried out while he was deputy transport minister.

Chalerm is expected to be questioned over actions he took while in charge of the police bureau, including letting gambling dens operate illegally and not getting former PM Thaksin Shinawatra arrested when the Metropolitan Police Bureau chief visited him in Hong Kong.

I only wish this could happen. But this is Thailand. Red Corruption is rampant with everyone having their hands out for more money. No chance for the law. No chance for the Thai people. Too Bad!

Bit like the Conservatives in the UK,the Republicans in the States in that the DEms are totally unelectable because they are totally out of touch with the electorate. Lets have some decent opposition please.

Well considering the conservatives got the most seats in the uk, that is a bit of a stretch. The republicans appear to have big problems, but they were tree ones who brought religion into politics. Believe it or not it is possible to be a fiscal conservative and be pro choice.

The dems in Thailand are miles away from the majority if the electorate. They are in a time warp. Time for a massive revamp.

'bout the only 2 reasonable comments on the page.

Politicians like this guy telling the government what they are doing wrong when he got tossed out on his ear by the voters... good luck.
