Awesome, I love it that someone else calls it Fake Nandos too :D

Why "fake"?

They serve Peri Peri chicken, Nandos signature dish

Same brand as Peri Peri Flaming Chicken in Bangkok?

You mean Piri Piri, the restaurant with several branches in Bangkok?

Is it the one in the basement level?

Never thought to try it until I saw this thread, curious now

I've always enjoyed nandos. Saw the piri piri place at emporium and got excited. Tried it to be very disappointed.

Gave it another chance at the paragon branch. Same result.

No where close to nandos in taste.

Nandos is very average food at silly prices. Its just chicken and a bit of sauce!!!?

Some chips....its KFC upgrade for three times the price.

The piri piri place is expensive and doesn't taste as good as nandos. So.go figure

Honestly after eating in the food court up on level 5 again yesterday, anywhere else is going to be expensive. That has to be the best value food court in Bangkok ..

Yes it is a chain. They are in terminal 21, paragon, emporium... 200b for half a chicken, chips and salad is good value!

Oh and they are on the 4th floor at terminal 21

And there's a branch in the basement of the newly reopened Silom Complex.

I think it's not bad actually - not amazing, but in paragon for example it's probably the best affordable option there (admittedly among very poor competition).

I make my own Piri Piri sauce, it's very easy, and keeps in the frindge for a few weeks.

Buy a chicken at the market, cover it with the sauce and bung it in the oven.

Wait a bit, and then enjoy.

Nice on pork too.

Dan the first time I tried at emporium was ok. Second time at paragon, not good. And compared to Nandos I've had, it's sorta almost hopeless :)

Are you gonna share the recipe for your sauce then jaiyenyen :)

^ this. im quite surprised that many find it nice. taste really nothing like nandos. one man's meat is another man's poison

I've never been to Nandos but I have had Piri Piri chicken in Lisbon and it was much better there than at the Bangkok piri piri place. But I wouldn't throw it off the plate either! w00t.gif

  • 2 weeks later...

I thought the Paragon place was an original ?? Is it not ??

Is Nandos here in Thailand ??

If not, then tough titties cos I love it, the one in Terminal is great, same paragon, great curbside perving also.

Went to the Silom Complex branch last week. Was pretty good, same standard as Paragon & Emporium.

I went there and had severe food poisoning in August and ended up in hospital on fluids because of it.

The food was delicious at the time though but yeah... :(
