I'm off to Vietnam around Xmas, can anyone recommend any cruises / companies that are good? I'm lookin to pay around $100 per person.

I recommend this company: http://www.kangaroocafe.com/. Don't be put off by the awful website. I've "done" Halong bay with them twice in the last few years and enjoyed the trip both times. It's a bit more expensive than the cheapest options (which, by all accounts, can be pretty dreadful), and your fellow travellers will consequently probably not be grungy backpackers.

i used this company for the Halong Bay - Cat Ba island tour and found them very good. Decent boat/ship, good rooms and food. Tour guide was also very good and accommodating !!

... it was $156 for 2 night / 3 day trip and i would definitely recommned the 2 night / 3 day trip as (IMO) the 1 night/2 day trip is just too short !!
