PHUKET: -- An unidentified foreign male died in a “high-speed” single-car crash early this morning on Kalim-Kamala Road, north of Phuket’s well-known Patong Beach.

Patong Police received the report of the incident at 5:40am, said Lt Col Pratuang Polmana.

“At the scene we found the man dead in a black Honda Vios registered in Udon Thani Province,” Lt Col Pratuang told the Phuket Gazette.

Police suspect the man, who was only wearing swimming trunks at the time of the accident, died from blunt trauma to his head and chest.

“Witnesses living in the area said the car was travelling toward Kamala at a high speed. The driver then seemed to lose control at the curve about 1.5 kilometers past Baan Kalim School,” he said.

Police searched the car, but were unable to find any documentation that would allow them to identify the man.

The body is currently being held at Patong Hospital.

“His relatives will probably contact the police or the hospital soon,” Lt Col Pratuang added.

Okay it may be a Light car but head and chest trauma suggests no Seatbelt. I myself hit a tree at dawn and didn,t get a scratch, the car was stuffed though. I no bullshit was hit by a car when aged about 10, flew across the road onto the Verge and didn,t get a scratch also. Life is like that, dropped the motorsai a few times and got only grazes and burns. Here one minute gone the next.

No one reacts to the fact he was only wearing swim trunks at 5.40 in the morning?

And not deadly crashed, look again at the picture, you can see the engine isn't in its normal position anymore.

Swim trunks at any time is not unusual here in Phuket.

Well, the crash was enough to be deadly for this guy. Who knows if an air bag or seat belts would have save him. The car looks well off the road, he could easily have broken his neck.
