Thats probably where the problem lies. The line is blurred between what a website designer is.

No, the problem is that you don't get enough work or are not appreciated as you'd like to be. Handle that instead of going on and on about semantics.

By the way, this is not intended as a personal attack or an insult of any kind, I hope you understand that.

The bottom line is that nobody really cares about these semantics issues, niether the customers nor the designers who do well. Those that don't sometime try to educate customers as to what they should ask.

That doesn't work - fill the demand instead of trying to change customers preferences. There is demand for high quality graphic design, how to get to customers who look for it should be your question, not how to change those who don't.
