Just so much crap spewing out of the mouths of these buffons. Yingluck's comment that "Law enforcement must be in compliance with International standards" If that is so why then is her brother roaming around free as a bird. Why is massive Government corruption and malpractise rife in this country. Why do the sibling of these power brokers continualy receive, get out of jail cards.

Name any one thing in Thailand that complies consitently with Internation Standards.

This Government is so far down the delusional trail with ceasless autocratic tripe that it only manifests their joint ignorance, conceit and arrogance. They behave like disfunctional juviniles with an IQ equivelant to their hat size.

Empowering the ISA statute is simply making something out of nothing and spreading fear to the public.

I just love you red haters and yellow apologists.

What the hell has the OP to do with Thaksin and his whereabouts?

What has Yingluks statement to do with it?

Even if she wanted, do you expect Thai police to fly to Dubai or wherever he is hiding right now, and arrest him?

and for the bold part: EXACTLY!

Never was, is not now and never will be, no matter who wants international standard for whatever!

So why bother?

This is serious, the stopped the soap operas so yingluck can address the country as to why the ISA is necessary.

Did she mention the kidnapping plot?

No she went on about democracy, rule of law, and why the government has an obligation to protect democracy.

Thanks.

So nothing additional to justify the U-Turn from 48 hours ago in which imposing the ISA was "categorically rejected" by her government.

Seems rather odd that there wasn't some dramatic development for them to justify the dramatic change in their stated actions.

It wouldn't be that difficult I guess, since they are visiting him on a frequent base anyway.

What happend to the 1,000,000 turn out whistling.gif

FYI, the rally has not started yet whistling.gif

When it does - the result will be far from 1 million lol. But if they reach 100,000 it will be impressive.

Yeah the people are overwhelmingly behind the PM and her party. These board-less hodads don't stand a chance in any democratic contest.

Yes, agreed, but there may have been a ,quote "dramatic development" of which you are ( and us ) are unaware.

Will you now answer the question, please.

"But seriously, is it acceptable to you that a retired general calls for a coup against an elected government ??

Yes or no, would be refreshing. "

and because the people are so overwhelmingly behind her party, they had to spent billions in vote buying....Or is it just that they bought people who don't care about politics and wouldn't vote???

It is not acceptable that a retired general calls for coup but it is the same unacceptable that a government came to power with massive vote buying and it is the same unacceptable that a government destroys the systems of checks and balances. Actually the complete Thai politics is unacceptable therefor the crazy ideas to just sack all of the crocks and go 5 years with specialists until return to elections.

One would think that with a 180-degree turn so quickly in their actions and go to the trouble of a nationwide television cut-in, that they would provide at least an inkling of what the dramatic development was. Perhaps it is Yingluck that is unaware. Afterall, they just announced today she was being put on the sidelines regarding security issues.

Yingluck Spared Role In Dealing With Rally; Chalerm Tasked With Tackling Protest

As for your repeating your wholly unrelated question, it'd be best if you could provide a specific quote of what the person said in order to put it in context.

at least in English it was very clearly stated what reasoning was behind it.

I followed the Thai as best as i could. She was actually very stern faced. She s stressed several times that parliament and the democratic system is the way for differences to be resolved. Thus the government is obligated to protect the democratic system under the constitution.

The English translation was flawless. Maybe she asked one of obamas aides to proof read it. Lol

Just following Thaksin's script to gaining greater control.

Alleged coup attempt,

( faked assignation in 2006, recent alleged assassination attempt )

and creating the fear of violence before any is coming, as a set up for

creating it as a way to lock in control and lock out oversight,

and give reasons for not going before the Censure Debates.

If they've foiled a coup.... why no perp-walk of the culprets???...

Thais love their perp-walks.

Nothing faked about it.

The perps were caught.

As Thaksin said why would he go to the trouble to fake a car bomb attack and then go and catch the perps.

If he had set it up you might think they might have ratted on him coz they didn't but they were attached to ISOC where, how shall I say, a certain general is not best pals with Thaksin.

Who knows about the recent threats to him in Burma?

We know there's a 10,000 dollar contract out on him.

Oh you didn't read Wiki leaks. I forgot.

4$ contribution from each family of "war on drugs" casualties?

Thank you Bucholze and wonderful.

Thank you for your non answer.

Your absence of honesty is transparent.

sorry 205 people.

And they all saw your wholly unnecessary flaming.

Let's end your pointless personal bickering, ok?

The rally situation hasn't changed in the past 48 hours.

It's only Yingluck Charlerm's (corrected to reflect the person that is now in charge of security) reaction to the rally situation that has changed 180 degrees.

To buchholz

The indication i got was that a little birdy has told them something. a precis is in the other paper. And she was very serious through the whole thing.

Weaponry being taken to the protest was mentioned. She knows that is the protest happens and they make a sit in and turn it into a long term rally, her game is up.

There's a copy of the full text of Yingluck's speech in the other paper now.

The reason she is justifying the change of action from categorically rejecting the ISA to implementing it 2 days later seems to be that there is now supposedly evidence that violence may used by the rally participants.

The source of this evidence from a thread earlier today is apparently from the Boat Propeller Minister Plodprasop, Red Shirt Deputy Interior Minister Pracha, and Red Shirt Leader Natthawut. All highly credible sources.

Love it Bucholze, "bob and weave " as my old boxing instructor used to say.

You sure are good at that, telling the truth, though, is a different story...........

The same way the Red Shirt leader just a few days ago confirm that in NO WAY WOULD THE RED SHIRTS GATHER AND DEMONSTRATE DURING THIS RALLYE /// BUT NOW THEY ARE SAYING THEY WILL BE THERE ...??

I'm living a kilometer or so from Royal Plaza. Saturday/Sunday I expect to hear loud speeches, music. If it will be like months ago when there were protests against the 'reconciliation push' I will see at least six police barriers and lots of police before even seeing a single protester. Talk about allowing people to peacefully rally.

BTW does the UDD still commemorate regularly at Democracy Monument?

" .... He said 23,000 civilian volunteers will also be on standby at 192 Bangkok police stations. ...."

Are they going to wear red or black shirts?

Probably wear yellow and cause trouble, so as to blame them wink.png

yeah, and of course we all know that anyone who caused trouble in 2010 was really a member of pad with a red shirt on instead... rolleyes.gif

i know you wink.png'd but i've seen posters here coming up with excuses already before the event has even occured (just in case i suppose)

it's true that with the way the groups are visibly divided by colour (to an extent, for the pedants out there) that one would only need to put on a yellow or a red shirt, hide their face and throw a petrol bomb.

however, if there is trouble and obviously most on here hope there won't be, but if there is and we see members of PS throwing bricks or fireworks or whatever and posters start saying they are red shirts in disguise then they better apply that same suspicion in vice versa to events in 2010 as well.

hopefully nothing will come of it, as it can only lead to violence in the end.
