Pattaya tunnel planning to take another 3 months

PATTAYA:--Consultants planning the construction of subterranean bypass tunnels in north and central Pattaya will spend another three months studying traffic and environmental issues before presenting their final designs to the city.

At a Nov. 7 meeting at City Hall, Pattaya Permanent Secretary Pakorn Sukhonthachat and Engineering Department representatives met with executives from Bunpunya Technology Co. and Integrated Engineering Consultant Co. to review their progress on traffic and environmental impact reports.

The consultants presented an overview of their initial work to review soil types and water flow that could affect the tunnels meant to run under Sukhumvit Road at the intersections of North Road and Thepprasit Road.

Given the current flooding on Sukhumvit maybe they'll notice that water flows downhill and that tunnels may not be the best solution ...

Maybe not ...

Or maybe they will, after 3 months of intensive studies and the corresponding consulting fees.

The Kings New Clothes???

No one will have the guts to tell them...........

Then after the 3 months they will all discuss it for years award the contract ,which will be sold on twice and eventually the guy doing the job will go bust and in a couple more years it will be finished ,only to be closed again two months later for repairs.

I've heard of an amount of THB 800,000,000 for the whole project.............forget that!!

It will be at least double if not triple that amount.

I really hope that the committee in Bangkok who is supposed to evaluate and approve the plans will have more sense in them.

This sounds like a project from the Australian Federal Government or another Obama care project.

It's ALL in the planning - (Profit that is )
