DALLAS star Larry Hagman has died at the age of 81.

Hagman, famed for playing the villainous oil baron JR Ewing, passed away at a Dallas Hospital, according to media reports.

His Dallas co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy, who played his wife Sue Ellen and brother Bobby, were at his bedside, The Sun newspaper reports.

Among those confirming the death were Linda Gray's agent, Jeffrey Lane, The Dallas Morning News said.

Hagman had a liver transplant in 1995 after years of alcoholism. He revealed how he used to down bottles of champagne on the Dallas set.

He married Maj Axelsson in 1954 and the couple had two children.

I don't think I ever missed an episode of Dallas.

I never missed an episode of I Dream of Jeannie. biggrin.png Downloaded the entire series a couple of years ago.

It's good to see his liver transplant gave him a few more years on the planet; I hope they were good years for him.

RIP J.R.

Dallas was our family favourite bit of nonsense, thanks for the memories J.R.

Thanks for the memories JR!

Time flies... I never really watched Dallas, but I did enjoy I Dream of Jeannie.

RIP

Larry had a good run, he was a famous TV star and good looking in the Jeanie days, would have had more girls than he could ever get to, did well financially. I suspect he would have seen it as a very fortunate life.

RIP.

Larry's mother was no slouch either. Better known as Mary Martin, star of "South Pacific", Peter Pan" and Broadway musicals.

Was working in Basra in around 1980-1 and the only english speaking programme that we could get on our TV (in our bar-DCM) was Dallas.

Every Monday night at 8-00pm I/we would shout "get you beer in now chaps bar shut till after Dallas"

Suspect that even Saddam Hussein must have been watching..?

Thanks JR ...for the memories.

A few weeks ago he was interviewed on a UK morning show,as having started,or just about to start a new Dallas series. RIP JR.
