Hi,

i am compiling a book of short stories about Thailand.

I lived in Thailand for a number of years before moving to Hong Kong, and so many friends constantly ask me what Thailand is like. Many times i try to recite stories and memories from Thailand, but its hard to really get across the impact of this amazing country!

I recently read a book in Hong Kong, that was compiled of short stories of Hong Kong from the colonial times to present. It was fantastic to read these stories, and made me realise that it would be great to get a compilation of peoples best memories and stories about the land of smiles! Im sure everyone has a favourite story or two that is regularly told to people, and that is exactly the type of thing i am after!

These stories can be about anything, from personal experiences to stories you heard recited to you. From an experience with a thai workman, to losing life savings to a bar girl.. from working in Thailand, to buying a farm in Isaan... i just want to get peoples best stories and compile a fantastic book which people can read and say... "only in Thailand!!!" Please send funny intersting stories across, this book is aimed at being a light hearted read, and please not a bitter story complaining about someone who did wrong to you or hurt you.

If you have a great story or memory, please sent it to me, if you are not a particularly great writer, thats fine, i will reword it so that it flows smoothly!

500 bht per story min 250 words sounds fair, we'll soon have your book full!

All major cards and paypal accepted.

Obviously this book will be a work of fiction.

Start a project on "kickstarter". You can then explain what your project is, what you need and what you will deliver.

Even if it is 'only' a personal project it can help you define the project and manage it. It also has lots of visitors that can be a good source for stories and ideas.

Why not just come back here and live as one of us and write your book from your own experiences....be more fun that way.

OP why wait for members to PM you. Peruse General topics at your leisure; you will find all the stories to your heart's content. Expect material for at least a trilogy if not a series of a dozen of books...

You can have my short story for free and here it comes.When i first moved to Thailand about ten years or so ago,i used to go out for every meal and in the evening i used to go play pool to pass the time.

One bar i liked to go to had a nice pool table some good music and some friendly girls to talk to or play pool with.

In this bar there was one girl who was very goodlooking and she was always busy talking to people and she only said hello to me occasionally but mostly ignored me.I liked her looks but not her attitude.

One night i walked in sat down and realised i was the only customer in there,never happened before.

I don't drink so i ordered a bottle of water and talked to one of the girls behind the bar.Miss beautiful walked up to the bar sat down beside me and asked me if i would buy her a drink,no hello how are you ,just asked for a drink.

I figured why not and i ordered another bottle of water,i was not going to spend much on her.She looked at me ,smiled and said,no i only drink Johnny Walker.I said ok and i heard her place her order,Johnny Walker and coke.

My time to smile,no you said you only drink J.W. so i will not pay for any mix.She must have thought i was really cheap and looking straight at me she downed it.

She smiled and told me how good it was,another sucker i was taking for a ride.I smiled back and asked her if she would like another one,she did and the same thing happened.She was really smiling now.

After the fourth one her smile was not so bright anymore and i went ahead and ordered another one and by now the other girls were paying close attention,something was up.

I looked at her and was thinking to myself,no matter how fast you drink i can keep this up a lot longer than you can.

She ended up drinking 8 shots in about twenty minutes and her smile was gone,she turned a whiter shade of pale and ran off.

I did not see her again that night or the next,the girl behind the bar told me she was mai sabai.

When i saw her again i asked her if i could buy her a drink,she gave me a killer look.

Beat her at her own game!!
