I have friends visiting Pattaya from overseas. They arrive on the 4th of Dec. The King's bd is on Wednesday so....... will the bars be open on Tues. night? (I can never remember if it is or is not.) I do know on the religious or election days, they are closed.

Open on 4 December, Probable closed on 5 December and open again from 6 December.

But this can be different from place to place.

Last 2 years, from memory, the bars were open 4 and 5 but there was no music on 5th. Made a pleasant change.

I remember from a few years ago that it was announced that bar closures didn't apply to Royal celebration.My experience is that part of the police force didn't hear or understand the announcement.
