Hi Mactao,

you are not alone. I will go to Kao Yai too. But prefer riding alone. 9am is much to early for me at the weekend wink.png I will stay one or two nights. I always decide on last minute. If you see the slow guy on the white CBR150 with the big shopping box on the back, its me, give it a honk laugh.png

have a nice ride guys. i join long rides once i get my new bike.

keep the distance!

Hi Mactao,

hope you had a nice ride. I stayed from Saturday to Monday and had the whole Sunday for exploring the park, mostly walking smile.png

Had some meetings with the local wildlife...

...some great views, like this from the Pha Diao Dai Cliff...

...and some relaxed moments dipping the feet into waterfalls...

The ride back on Monday morning was fantastic. Empty streets in the park, only some monkeys sitting around hoping someone will give some food - but noone there but me tongue.png

Nothing special. Outside of the park at Khao Yai Garden Lodge. 950 Baht a double bed room incl. breakfast and aircon and Wifi (not tested). Good thai and western food. The mixed salad for 60 Baht is amazing. Another good thing is the fact, that its located directly besides a PTT fuel station with 7eleven and ATM machines biggrin.png

Looks good, thanks for the recommendation. I always have a hard time finding decent places to stay near the park but this looks good value.

Are there enough guys around the Bangkok area that would be interested in some (relatively sedate) group rides? Could be day ttrips or overnighters even. Especially welcome would be gf's / wives / partners as mine always wants to come along which suits me fine :)

When you go to visit a NP...how can staying next to a 4 lane highway and a petrol station and a 7/11 be a good thing ?

Yes, i had the same thoughts. But at least i had no leeches in my bed and a hot coffee in the morning. And a 24hour 7eleven gives me some kind of secure feeling, something i can rely on in crazy Thailand cheesy.gif
