Dog Mauls Owner's Murderer In Lat Phrao: Bangkok

It seems to me just a typical stupid arguement, probably involving drink. I doubt all the facts are known yet, if ever.

Of course it is understandable to defend the dog as it was just doing what nature has taught it, defending its family.

However the arguement that there should be fewer, or indeed less dogs in LOS is valid. Even better would be that the dogs that there are were kept under control and when outside on a lead.

Unfortunately this is never going to happen.

It's bad enough to read about the escapades of these two dredges of humanity (judging by their appearance and the appearance of the gutter swamp Soi they were occupying), but to read the inferred anthropomorphisms from the "poochie-lovers" is enough to make one want to vomit. Yeah; hip hip hooray for the poochie. Three feral creatures, all: the canine being the most pure bred of them, yet still one I would not allow on my own soi, and certainly not the other two dredges sans one. No sympathy for any of them.

I could not help noticing the officer trying to keep his distance as he probed the corpse. The smell of urine must have been overpowering.

pity it wasn't a pitbull , justice could have been served up on a rare occasion in LOS

well, may you meet your pitbull one day!...sober up man....unbelievable the comments you read here, gives you to think what kind of scum hangs around here ; you must no doubt be one of those who don't have a kind word for the locals....shhhh.....

I hope the dog is spared and the scum that it supposedly mauled gets more of what he deserves.Well done by the dog.

You didn't get it. The guy who stabbed the owner of the dog got into an argument with the owner because the owner kicked his dog. Then the owner hit the guy over the head with a dust pan and then got stabbed.

This looks very much to me like the guy had it coming. First he hits his dog and when someone gets in his hair about it he hits him with a dust pan???

I agree, though, the dog did the right thing even though he was mistreated by his owner!

Reading conflicting news reports, there are other witnesses who say that it was actually the murderer who kicked the dog and the owner then hit the man in defence of his dog and got killed for that.I wasn't there and neither were you I expect and I certainly don't know which report is correct. My concern is that someone was killed by someone who was carrying a knife and was prepared to use it regardless of which story is correct.I find it hard to believe that a dog would defend it's owner immediatly after being kicked by him.I dont claim to be an expert on dog behaviour but do have some knowledge of it having dogs of my own.

I watched this on the Thai news, there are appears to be a lot missing from this report.

On the news this dude said the dead person has about 10 of these dogs, one of which had a go at him as he walked past.

He took a swipe at the dog which led to a dispute with the owner.

If anything I wouldnt portray the dog as some sort of hero, just another out of control soi dog allowed to roam free, ill disciplined.

Throw some good old face into the mix and you have a recipe for violence.

No, you are wrong.

One newspaper article is always sufficient for gettging a complete understanding of the situation, and on that basis deciding about what is right and wrong, god or bad etc...

What a touching story of loyalty!smile.png

...and abuse. Some people wonder why the dog bothered after _seemingly_ being regularly abused by the owner. Those of use who come from families with abusive parents understand this all-too-well.

I think the head line should have been 'Dog lays down life for attacked owner.'

After all, why let anything like the truth get in the way of a doggie lover story?

As for defending his master ....................... er, the guy is dead. Not much of a defence then. About on a par with hiring a Thai lawyer.

No one seems to be prepared for the news that the owner had a collection of feral muts. The other flea bag collection of which seem to have disappeared. Not much of a defence put in there then. Of course. That doesn't fit the line of Fido being man's best friend.

So two low lifes, you know the sort who constantlymurder the farang for a mobile phone or drop us off the balcony for 3k baht, have an altercation. One being the typical knife carrying thai stabs the other and the rest is fiction. Sure there's a knee bite to be accounted for. I expected knife man bravely attacked Fido and Fido reacted as any good - bad [up to you] soi dog does and bites everyone within a hundred metre radius.

Personally, I love dogs.

The Thais do too.

The good people of Chain Rai like the black ones best. Barbequed preferably. Good for keeping out the winter cold they believe.

Only I prefer ................. to keep and walk them. Unusually, I have dogs that have a full coat of hair, no mange, visit the vet and eat something other than rice and rice water.

Call me sentimental. I prefer civilised.

When men intercede to protect women, we call this White Knighting. A woman will be abusing a man and nobody helps. Once he defends himself, here come all the white knights hoping to prove their manhood and curry favor with the almighty Godess. In this case, the dog defended his abusive owner - which women will normally do too. Moral of the story: Mind your own dam_n business....

Your initial comment is over the top, but then I guess you feel so superior to the normal run of the mill people you think it is ok to run them down. The response to ALFREDO just confirms your attitude - nasty, self-centred and arrogant.

Now I am at the end of this thread (which I followed as a dog lover), I ask myself "<deleted>?" dam_n, there is so much drivel written here as always on TV. The dog is a dog, if he has any spunk about him at all, he will defend his owner come what may. I say this as an owner of a bull terrier that bit me during Loi Khratong last week because I cornered him to put him outside when he was terrified of the fireworks. I put him in a position he didn';t want to be in. He bit me whilst defending himself, 5 minutes later, we're best buddies again. No problem. The lesson for me is responsibility - be responsible and aware of your dog.

Cheers,

Pikey.
