Two questions please,

First,

does a Non Immigrant -O- Marriage Visa expire or is it revoked with the date of the divorce?

Second,

Dispute, an Expat says, it is a loophole,

that if you opt, to show a mix of monthly income money, for example, -retirement pension- or a small salary (from outside Thailand)

and money in Bank to reach the 800.000 Baht limit for a 1 year Non Immigrant -O- Visa, based on retirement, age, Married or child = 400.000 Baht,

the money in the Bank in your name, must than only be there a day or so and not two/three month.

Thank you

An extension expires with Divorce, if you are on a visa (which means you leave Thailand every 90 days, and do not visit Immigration) then your visa is still valid.

Unless an angry ex wife was to notify immigration that you had divorced they would not know about until told by you. But technically the extension does end on date of divorce.

If using a combination of income and money in the bank their is no requirement for the money to be in the for any length of time for an extension based upon retirement. This option is not available for extensions based upon marriage to a Thai lady.

A combination of yearly income and money in the bank is only possible for an extension based on retirement.

For an extension based on having a Thai child you need to show an income of 40,000 a month OR 400,000 in the bank in Thailand. The money does not have to be seasoned.

I got a divorce just over a month ago and still successfully completed a visa run last Wednesday.......

On a Visa you can as the visa is still valid, but on an extension you cannot, it could be found out and revoked.

Thank you, to all, for the information.

Divorce: I ask for a man I know and he asked for a man he knows and wants to help him.

So, I do not know what kind of Visa Non Imm. O he has.

A 90 day by 90 day Visa with border runs, still ok. A one year Visa from EU Thai Consular section, only 90 day reports in TH, or an one year extension in TH Immigration, is not any longer in the law. ok.

The information about money in Bank for period of time or not, is helpful to,

as the last time hefty discussing men, can try to make the one year Visa soon.

Thank you again "Thai Visa men". thumbsup.gif
