Suggestions For Solo Chinese Female Tourist

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been discussed too much. I searched and could not find anything.J

My colleague/friend will be visiting Thailand for the first time this month. She is single, mid-twenties, pretty, sweet, smart, artsy and very considerate of other people. I think she must also be very brave because she's traveling alone. She'll be there for only 1 week with a couple of days in Bangkok, then Chiang Mai and wants to visit a beach as well. I know that's a pretty standard first-timer agenda but she's not particularly interested in temples and she's certainly spirited but I think not one to go alone to clubs.

I forwarded a recent TravelFish article about WARP54 Studio to her and she was most excited about visiting there. Can someone please offer some advice for things a sweet, hip young Chinese lady might enjoy?..... especially regarding a beach destination. I just don't see her really enjoying (or being particularly safe in) Pattaya or Patong. Koh Chang may be a bit far in with so little time. Koh Samet maybe, but it's pretty limited outside the beach. I suggested she consider Hua Hin but I've never been there so I'm certainly not sure.

I just want her to be safe and have a great time, see the beautiful side of Thailand, have fond memories, and want to come back.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Jim

Can't say much about Koh Samet but a friend of mine enjoyed it very much, Hua Hin was alot of much older people last time I was there.

  • 2 weeks later...

For the beach,I would go with Same, has a lot of younger end travellers.

Also it seems to attract Japanese,Chinese,Korean,in fair numbers

It is also an easy journey, from Bangkok, favoured by Bangkokians for weekend breaks
