Traditional British Christmas Dinner

Featured Replies

I wonder what Nattydread's favourite Christmas song is. Probably 'Lonely this Christmas' by Mud! Unless Bob Marley did a version of it!

There are lots of bars along Loi Kroh Road, but the Old Belle is the only one that resembles a pub and Pedr is a convivial host. I would say it's great location for a family Christmas day. However, I won't be there because I'm a miserable git who doesn't like Christmas.

I enjoyed that audio/video clip.

It's a little off-topic, but wouldn't "Bar Humbug" be a lovely name, for a watering-hole for us old-farts to hang-out in, and complain about the Good-Old-Days & Younger-Generation & suchlike ? rolleyes.gif

It might have a great list of British beers on-tap, all permanently sold-out, and musak by Chas-and-Dave or George Formby ! laugh.png

The video would show Bing Crosby & Bob Hope, in the classic 'Road to Chiang Mai', black-and-white original !

Merry Christmas All ! wai2.gif

I did too!

One of the lovely things about Christmas in Chiang Mai is that it isn't nearly so commercialised as Christmas in the West. A few Christmas trees around town and there used to be a polystyrene Santa on Chiang Klan Rd, but I haven't seen it this year, and no talk of so many 'shopping days until Christmas'! One thing I would miss though would be Christmas Dinner. Also I may be one of the old farts that inhabit my' Bar Humbug' - but I'd kind of like my 5 year old son to get some idea of what Christmas is all about without going over the top!!

Don't worry, 'miserable gits' are welcome again from Boxing Day onwards!!

We now have 5 tickets left for midday and 12 for 7pm. Do call the Olde Bell number between 9am and midday if you'd like to snag one of the remaining tickets, or take pot luck or just come along and join us for a beer or two at any point during the day!

A very Happy Christmas to you and your families!

A very Happy Christmas to all Thai Visa Chiang Mai Forum regulars. There is still a little 'room at the Inn', hope to see many of you during the course of the day.

Have a great day, whatever you do!

More likely Jacob Marley:-)
