Health Checks

Featured Replies

I thought I'd give myself an MOT shortly, so to get the ball rolling, I telephoned the Pattaya Memorial Hospital yesterday, to ask how much they would charge for a health check. "We don't offer that service here" said the voice at the other end. Can you believe that. A golden opportunity to get someone on the conveyor belt to giving them loads of money. Very short sightedness. I know Bangkok Pattaya offer the service but I'm not overley impressed with that establishment.

Does anyone have first hand experience of the other hospitals, such as Queen Sirrakit etc and what their charges are ??

Queen Sirikit prices attached. Go any weekday, early, register, get the tests done, return after 1-2 weeks for results and consulation. Good value and good service.

Thanks Unotover

I went there for a health check two years ago and as you say, you need to get there early to be ahead of the crowd. You also need not to have eaten after 12 midnight the night before if the tests are to make sense. I found that out to my cost and had to go back the following day.

Let's try this over in the Pattaya forum. I think you'll get better replies there. I'm assuming you are looking for options in Pattaya???

First, not everybody might know what an MOT is. Pretty much every hospital here offers a medical checkup, with standardized prices. I did find PIH one that doesn't have a "bundled" service, you just select from a list of items you want done and they perform the tests and can have a doctor followup if you desire.

There are several clinics around town that offer blood work, etc. Cheaper than the hospitals, but no doctor consultation. I attached a copy from Phyathai Sriracha Hospital. I'm on the mailing list that Gavin Waddell does every month listing their specials. I can not vouch for their service, but it's an option.

Bangkok Pattaya also offers specials on a fairly regular basis.

Good luck!

Bangkok Hospital Pattaya usually runs a discount on their multi-level health screenings that start in December but if prepaid before end of the year, you can take up to end of February to get the health check.

This year, it's a 'Father's Day' special (December 5th being Thai Father's Day) and the discounted health checks are only available in November & December AFAIK. I have been doing them here for the last 5 years and have a history that is always part of the review. I usually select Superior and is 11,000 baht (discounted) this year which may be too steep for some but same-day tests and results with counselling and follow up available. You can go for the lower priced options or cherry pick additional tests to customize your list. I reckon it is about £200 a year that is well spent.
