Have to change address with immigration at samut prakan next week but actually have no proof I live at the new place. Everything is in the mrs name of having just bought a house. Will they need a letter from her?, before I had a tenancy agreement but now nothing with my name on it.

My wife had to fill in a form for immigration to say that she had an alien living in her house, apparently it is required by law, then this form you can use as proof of address.

When I went to immigration I just took signed copies of the g/f`s ID card and the blue house book (in her name).

I was a little worried if this was sufficient but they accepted it. Would be interested to know about this form.

I've been to Korat Immigration today for my 12 month extension and needed proof of address for my Driving Licence which expires tomorrow.

So, when I had my extension granted I asked for proof of address ..... they asked for my wife's ID (which has her parents address) and then they asked for the blue book, which she's not registered on either (still at parents address) but they still gave me a proof of address letter on the basis we were in possession of the blue book!

For my proof, I needed to get my father in law and the village chief to go to the subdistric office and make a statement that I live in that house and that village. Then it is a two week wait. I am building a new house at this moment and will probably need to do it all over again at my new house. The province is a different one than I now reside in...I think what applies is the person you initially start with. Try to see the same one every time as the rules will invariably change from person to person. The same thing applies to when you get your Thai drivers license........Before I forget, everything has to be translated into Thai also....biggrin.png

Take the wife with you. It makes it much simpler. Her ID card should suffice IF its got the right address on it. Worked for me at a different office.
