BANGKOK: -- With his term expiring on January 10, 2013, Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra could not have done more to secure the Democrat Party’s nomination for re-election. But as the Party draws close to announcing a candidate, it’s increasingly starting to seem like Sukhumbhand’s name won’t even be in the running. Over the past months, the incumbent governor has put much effort into pleasing Bangkok residents and proving to the party’s top executives that he deserves the ticket for another term. In November, Sukhumbhand revealed several projects as pre-election gifts for Bangkokians, including the city’s very first dog park, to be constructed as part of a THB50-million public park in the Bang Khen District.
