For those of you who are spending Christmas Day at home and would like to get out of the house on Boxing Day

or if you dislike Christmas but wouldn’t mind a bit of festive food – or even for those of you who can’t get enough of the Christmas Spirit,

we’ve got a treat for you on Boxing Day!

Boxing Day in the UK is traditionally a day to watch sport and eat up the Christmas leftovers – well we at The Olde Bell have taken this to a higher plane

and invite you to partake in a great evening of food and sport!

Foodwise we’ve got Cold Turkey and Lancashire Ham, Sage & Onion Stuffing, Chestnut stuffing,

Roast Pork, Beef and continental cold meats; French Pâtés, cheese, potato salad,

pickled onions, Gherkins, Beetroot, Chutneys and Pickles, Baguettes & homemade bread

To accompany your food we’ve got 5 Draught Beers including Kilkenny & Guinness, a great range of British Beers from Fuller’s and Greene King; Ciders including Magner’s and Thatcher’s and a couple of very quaffable House Wines

On the sports front we’ve got Premiership Football’s Manchester v Tyne & Wear double header at 10pm as United take on Newcastle at Old Trafford and Sunderland entertain City at the Stadium of Light.

This is our 4th year of Boxing Day Cold Cuts and half the 45 tickets have already been sold to regulars who come each year. If you’d like one or two of the remaining tickets, pop into The Olde Bell this weekend. Tickets cost 445 Baht and the food will be served from 7pm onwards.

I can't 100% guarantee that there'll be no Cliff Richard - who may be gay or straight! Not that it matters!

Done this before and it was very good.

Given the amount of food that I have to eat on Xmas day I'll have to take a chance on a ticket still being available if I just turn up on the night. If they are all gone I'll have to sit at the bar drink and dribble in envy.

As I type this, there are still some tickets left for Boxing Day, SapSipet. You should be OK just to turn up. Best to get your ticket in advance if you can though - to avoid disappointment.

A consignment of Hayward's Pickled Onions arrived by special delivery form UK today, just to add a crunch to the proceedings. They'll be rationed, but at 270 baht a jar in Rimping, they are out of the financial reach of most of us!!

See you boxing Day, from 7pm onwards.

We offer a full a la carte menu this evening, so even if you feel more like fish 'n chips than a cold cuts buffet, we can cater for you!

Both I and my mate enjoyed Peder's Cold Cuts last night.

Good choice of well cooked meats and I particularly liked the Cheese selection.

Well done on a good night out.
