Rimmer Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 LPG Car explodes on Sukhumvit Road LPG Gas powered car explodes on Sukhumvit Road Pattaya:-- Police and fire department rushed to the scene of a single vehicle fire on the Sukhumvit just before one o clock on Sunday morning, to find an old Nissan ZX which had become an inferno within minutes, as its LPG gas system exploded. The driver of the car noticed that a fire had started and leapt from the vehicle minutes before it burst into flames. He begged local residents to help him douse the flames but, wisely, they chose to keep a safe distance from the burning vehicle. Firefighters, who arrived quickly at the scene, bravely doused the flames as they too were wary of the dangers involved in liquid LPG systems when they overheat. Following the firefighter’s arrival a second, major, explosion occured, during which pieces of the vehicle were strewn over a 50 metre diameter and the roof was completely destroyed. BlackPuddingBertha Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I've never really trusted these gas tanks, especially the ones fitted by third parties, and I'm happy I went with diesel. Unlike petrol and LPG, diesel will not ignite at normal temperature and pressure. 1
thenervoussurgeon Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 The trouble is that so many people have their lpg fitted by some back street mechanic on the cheap ,get it done by a proper company. 1
