webfact
Complaint over Abhisit's remarks about referendum Chanikarn Phumhiran, Kesinee Taengkhiao The Nation BANGKOK: -- Activist Ruangkrai Leekitwattana applied to the electoral watchdog yesterday for a probe into Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva in connection with plans for a referendum on changing the Constitution. In a petition to the Election Commission, Ruangkrai said he suspected Abhisit violated the charter in opposing the holding of a referendum vote on amending the Constitution. "Abhisit circulated his open letter calling for Thai citizens to boycott the referendum," he said. Such a letter may be construed for two serious violations - defrauding the public in order to mislead voters and framing the ruling Pheu Thai Party, he said. Abhisit "falsely cited" Pheu Thai for having an ulterior motive to amend the charter - in order to repeal Article 309 of the Constitution, seen as a key clause blocking the amnesty for fugitive former PM Thaksin Shinawatra. He said he saw this citation as a fraudulent attempt to mislead the public as well as a "frame-up" of the ruling party. Meanwhile, in a separate matter related to red-shirt leader and terrorism suspect Jatuporn Promphan taking to the stage of a red-shirt rally on Saturday, Chief Justice Thawee Prachuablap said yesterday the Criminal Court would rule in accordance with prescribed rules and precedents in a bid by Jatuporn for bail. "At issue is whether Jatuporn violated his bail conditions," he said. Thawee was reacting to news reports that the Democrat Party would seek to cancel temporary release granted to Jatuporn. The Democrats allege Jatuporn violated his ban for inciting the crowd during his speech to red shirts at the Bonanza rally in Nakhon Ratchasima over the weekend. Thawee said the court would convene a bail review hearing if and when members of the public, including the Democrats, initiate proceedings and submit evidence. Jatuporn has been released on bail pending the outcome of his trial in connection with the 2010 political mayhem. In a review of his bail conditions in August, the Criminal Court imposed a ban on making speeches that could be construed as smearing others, instigating, inciting or causing disturbances. -- The Nation 2012-12-
Popular Post righteous
>In some respects, the PTP should let Abhisit go-ahead and politically hang himself. The more he opposes an effort to restore Democratic practices following a coup, by decrying efforts to reform the coup constitution, the more he becomes tightly linked to that coup. He has so much political baggage already, this will simply add weight. >I marvel at the Democrats complaining about Jatuporn's bail situation, when only several days ago there was a headline indicating PAD Leaders failed to show up at a court hearing for their Airport caper. For some people, there is no shame. Edited December 24, 2012 by righteous

rubl
There seems to be a mere suggestion, a bare hint that the Democrats and the PAD are the same. How that got into this topic seems wrong rather than right. Anyway business as usual.
rubl
Meanwhile in another topic "Another Pheu Thai source said red-shirt co-leader Jatuporn Promphan had an understanding with ousted and fugitive former premier and would no longer oppose the referendum. He would play a key role to drum up support for amending the charter. Deputy Premier Chalerm, meanwhile, acknowledged Thaksin's influence in enabling Pheu Thai to win the election, adding that he believed Thaksin could help ensure 24 million votes to back the referendum. On Saturday, Thaksin phoned red shirts gathered at Bonanza in Nakhon Ratchasima, saying it would not be difficult to get 24 million votes."
Popular Post siampolee
Yet again a post taken from elsewhere and a cut and paste by the troll and super sock righteous . Yet again we see the creeping demolition of democracy by the actions of one Ruangkrai Leekitwattana no doubt yet another paid lackey of Thaksin and his family. The denial of free speech that must be enforced so as a convicted bail jumping criminal can return to Thailand and set himself and his family and their brown nosing cronies up as dictators . Yet according to the comments made by Jutuporn the aim is to restore Thaksin to a position of a dictator, Chalerm has also stated it is his aim, nay mission is to return Thaksin to power. Unlike the current maladministration who falsely cite criminal charges against their opponents Abhisit is telling the truth, and the truth hurts. The Quisling, style comments made by some posters in the various threads in T.V.F. forum prove yet again and again they are nothing more than simple duped brainwashed collaborators of the church of Thaksin.. The sacrificial altar of that church of Thaksin is being prepared for the ultimate sacrifice of democracy in Thailand and its people to sate the megalomaniac Thaksin.. Render unto Thaksin what is his, and render unto Thaksin that which is yours too. . Edited December 25, 2012 by siampolee

Cant help yourself can you, if you reds are so aggrieved by those trying to stop the referendum then state catigorically that thaksin will not be able to come back if this approved. You wont because you all know that is exactly what the reds want, thaksin back in Thailand, you really are pathetic the way you keep rubishing anyone that tells the truth about the reds and their leader, how much of a retainer is he paying you. Popular Post geriatrickid
Perhaps defeated PM Abhisit's comments are motivated because he fears the expression of the democratic desires of the Thai nation. As someone that never won a mandate at the polls, but was instead repudiated, I can understand his sensitiivity. It must be difficult now that his fraudulent military service record was exposed. As someone that never won a mandate at the polls, but was instead repudiated, I can understand his sensitiivity. It must be difficult now that his fraudulent military service record was exposed. It is obvious to any non-gullible person that Abhisit is being targeted precisely because he doubts the spin put on the constitution amendment process by a bunch of liars. How many times have they said that the process is not for Thaksin's benefit while having previously said they would do anything to get him an amnesty. His 'fraudulent' military service was 'exposed' by a kangaroo court (of the military) - not in a proper court of law. It's so easy to see (if you use your faculties) that a witch-hunt is in progress.
