The OP has not doubt already completed his visit. Maybe he waied his lady friend's mother and got laughed at, or tossled her fathers hair and got shot. I hope he comes back here with a trip report so we can find out how it all went.

In the mean time I'm going to close this topic to spare the rest of the viewers the sight of people arguing ad-nauseam to other stubborn people with nobody ever changing their mind. rolleyes.gif

Seeing as this topic has occupied 6 pages, and further to what cdnvic wrote, it would be interesting to hear back from the OP.

Bedroom Door?

Luxury, in most village houses, one mattress or sleeping mat in the middle of the only room with everyone on it.

LOL remembering my own wedding. When I got married in the village over 25 years ago now, we did have a bedroom door but we were sharing the rather small thin-walled house with over 40 people and did not have even one moment of privacy until several days after the wedding. And be wary, there is a certain subspecies of Thai women who enjoy sharing the most intimate details of their mating partners to one and all. This subspecies can be found at all levels of Thai society, from bar girls to Hi-So, and should be avoided and/or immediately divorced sooner rather than later.
