Hi,

Seems I must not be good at searching TV for info. I posted on this several years ago, but couldn't find a post that old. After wasting a half hour or so I can't find any posts that state specifically what I need for my yearly renewal. As things can change rapidly here I feel it prudent to check yearly to make sure nothings changed. But, in addition, could you please list exactly what I need.

I'm renewing in Phuket. I have 800,000 untouched in my bank account for the last 3 mos.

I assume a med certificate is still not a requirement.

I need a letter from my bank AND copy of the Bank book, correct?

Do I need proof of home rental? If so, what?

What size photos? How many?

Copies of which Passport pages?

Which immigration form # do I need to fill out?

Am I forgetting anything? After all I'm a retiree and forgetfulness happens:)

My check in date is Monday January 7 - No holiday that I can find, so should be OK.

Unlike the 90 day report there is no +/- 7 day wiggle room, correct? In my case it would be very nice to go the Friday before, as a friend has a birthday in BKK on the 6th, and I'd like to be there, not here.

If there is a sticky I've overlooked, or another topic that covers this feel free to refer me to there.

Thanks,

Buzzer

You need the following :

1. Completed Form TM. 7 with 1 PP photo

2. Statement from your bank

3. Copies of bank book pages

4. Copy of passport pages (main page and page with initial visa)

For extension of stay of your retirement visa, you can do it within 1 month of the expiry date. The expatriate gentlemen at the immigration office will be most glad to help you with your extension.

It would also be a good idea to bring the actual bankbook, with the balance updated. Deposit 100 baht if your bank can't update to a current date without any account activity.

Also, some proof of where you live would be a good idea. Like your lease or house book.

Also, some documentation to show that you're actually spending money. I was asked for this in CM when they saw that my 800,000 baht hadn't been touched for a year. I pulled out a copy of our joint passbook and said "Husband's pension income is sufficient for both of us to live."

These documents aren't required and should simply be available in case they ask more questions, which they can do. In the case of my episode with the proof of funds for living expenses, the I/O just waved away the passbook and kept on stamping papers. He just wanted to see if I had a plausible story.
