Work Permit For Musicians?

Featured Replies

Is it permitted for a farang to work as a musician in LOS? If so, is this an informal courtesy, or is it possible to actually get a work permit?

The musician would need a legally Thailand-registered "entity", which - as an employer - will sponsor that workpermit

True, You either need an employer or you could go with an agency who will give you info on permits.

What kind of musician? :o

Busking around Thailand. Interesting thought :o

A work permit might be a bit hard to come by for a busker LOL :D

is it possible to actually get a work permit?

Yes.

Several of our clients who are bands with foreign musicians, have set up their own Thai Limited Company. The employees have gotten a work permit with no problem.

I see. Maybe once I get to Thailand I can look up some of these groups to see if they are looking for a guitarist (he's really good). Thanks for the tip.

If he's a blues guitarist he's welcome to come and jam one night in my place. :o
