Swimming Pool Chlorinator...which Type?

Toying with the idea of building a pool at last.

Not huge, maybe 30k litres.

As the village electrical supply can sometimes be a little erratic I am wondering what type of chlorinator could be used?

Ideally I suppose a salt water chlorinator would be good but if the supply goes out could there be problems with reprogramming every single time?

A friend suggested a simple chlorine feeder either inline or offline may be a more suitable solution.

Any thoughts and suggestions are very welcome.

The chlorinator would switch back on again when power is restored if it is still within the timer cycle (the timer typically keeps to true time as most (all?) units have an inbuilt battery for that very circumstance).

So you might have to set a slightly longer time period for your pump and chlorinator if you are regularly losing chunks of power time. Otherwise you are in for lots of boring manual adjustments. You will have to face this issue anyway as regards your pumping timer.

Have not used an auto chlorine feeder so can't comment but have survived perfectly well on a manual feed basis (chucking half an Amazon plastic tall glass of chlorine powder into the pool every couple of days) for a year or so! Much cheaper than the expensive kit - which I also have - even when accounting for brother-in-law poolboy for periods of my absence
