Tomorrow morning I need to get my new ED visa sorted at Immigration. Ive just looked on the CM immigration site and see there is a new procedure for checking in.

Now there is no signing the paper and we are given a plastic card with a number on it. They hand these out at 8am.

As I must sort this tomorrow I need to make sure I get visa when I arrive there. My question is what time do people start arriving at immigration now ?

Is there a big cue before 8am now to wait in line to get the plastic number ?

Any help is much appreciated.

I recall reading a post about this yesterday that it is now a mad dash to be the first one to the counter to get the number.

I think another post said 7 o'clock was a good time now.

Can't see the problem, what time did you arrive previously or did you just shove in ahead of other people.

What ever time you arrive whether they are giving out plastic numbers or not it comes down to your turn in the queue (or it should). Seems the plastic numbers is just to eliminate the queue jumpers and keep it orderly.

One fellow told me he got to CM Immigration at 6 AM and was the first one at the front door, he then took out pencil and paper and entered his name as number 1.

When other people arrived he entered their names on his list in terms of their arrival, and 14 persons had arrived before the office opening.

On entering the office he gave his list of the written names to the queue ticket operator and the operator gave the queue ticket numbers according to their appearance on the fellows list, and after that the normal queue line system started.

How long ago was this? Recent reports are that they're ignoring any customer-generated pre-queue list and using the "first to the counter -- push and shove method" to hand out the plastic pe-queue tickets. Apparently, they were concerned that people were paying others to put their name on the list. Now I guess they don't care if anyone gets hurt in the mad dash to get their plastic laminated tickets.
