Nice work - those TV members in the Eastern part of the country might see the white ear spot sub species: not seen by me I'm afraid. Yet!

I wasn't aware of the various sub-species, thanks for pointing it out. Gives me good reason to pay more attention to this very common bird.

This is one of a pair observed picking worms and flying off only to reappear after a few minutes to collect more.

Must be a nest nearby.

Great pics Jack. A reminder to TV viewers - if you click on the actual pic it will lead you to jack2964's excellent Flicker album. Some really excellent work there. Worth viewing.

This female (black crowned) was having a great time pecking away but was soon harassed by the male which forcibly took over the choice spot.

Another frequent visitor to this blind in KKNP.

Lesser Necklaced Laughingthrush. I think it is, hard for me to pick between Greater and Lesser.

Great bokeh and a really nice pic all around. The Greater has the pale cheek patch but this pic also shows the distinct pale bill tip of the Lesser LT, and although skin colour can be problematic - especially with juv. birds I think I would use this as a pointer to which was which.

This is a very cheeky bird that can talk.

Although he/she was mumbling in an incomprehensible language, managed to say Hello after 10 minutes of teaching.

Then it started whistling at me in a very cheeky way...............

These Open Billed Storks are a relatively new addition to our valley. They have only recently taken to resting right next to our house but as soon as they spot me they are gone. This is my best shot so far, taken a few minutes ago.

Mr Chonburiram, what are these birds?

I know you are the right person to ask.

They remind me of the film where cheeky Beetlejuice threw the powder on the head of the man waiting on the queue and shrank it.

Very nice shot TP1.

It's a Nicobar Pigeon which can be found in the Ko Similan islands. I haven't seen one myself.
