The wife submitted application end of November. What happens next. Wait for rejection or call for interview? Not clear what happens next.

The UKBA will make a decision, and you will be informed by VFS ( the application centre), normally by SMS when the passport is ready to be collected, or when it is mailed back to your wife ( if she paid for the courier service).

It's unlikely that there will be any interview. The visa will likely be issued or refused, but the Embassy might contact your wife if they want any further information or documentation before making a decision.

I'm afraid it's join the queue and sit back and wait, if you look on this forum you will see the length of time others are waiting.

Decisions are usually made on the evidence submitted, it's very unusual for an applicant to be interviewed, though if an ECO had a question pertinent the application they could make further enquiries by phone.

Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Not a problem with the wait just don't know what the process is. I can see the application being rejected since there were so many vague questions so I will assume they will reject then they get another fee when the application is submitted again.
