Rubber trees (Ficus} have completely different flowers. I have seen this one on Koh Kood and am still looking for the (Latin!) name/

Bougainvillea, I imagine that these ones have been grafted as I think that is the only way you would get the different colours that you see here.

^^^^^Yes,  Bougainvillea like that is grafted... I am about to inherit one poor specimen from a neighbour... Not sure what they use as a root stock...

 

Meanwhile, this has perked up and lovely scent ... not sure of the name...

Yeah, looking again, it's obviously not a rubber tree / Ficus... The flower reminds me of a Cistus, but foliage not! .....oh well!

 Those grafted bougainvillea look fantastic. I have seen natural combinations of purple and partly white, but these are absolutely beautiful.

Came across this " nursery " today in Nakhon Nayok, apparently they are not as uncommon as I first thought !!
