Feeding pills to a horse is not easy! He spate it out a couple of times, even covered with a banana! wink.png

Son of owner of the 25 year old horse!

The horse is down the road from me, so will will keep an eye on progress and post improvements ! thumbsup.gif

Jimmy, I'm late to the party here and I'm really enjoying all of the photos. This is a touch off topic but we always had horses when I was growing up and we did most of our vet work. As soon as we got a new horse or when a new born one was weaned we began to feed them a treat regularly out of a shallow plastic or metal dish. We kept some grain mixed with a little bit of molasses and they love it. We did that so that they would come to us even from far out in a field. We just called them and showed them the dish and they all came.

When we needed to give them a pill we just stuck it into the treat and they would eat it for sure after coming to us happily. The important thing is to never rip them off. If they come for the dish there must be the treat in it and then you can put a rope on them or whatever you need.

Cheers

Wish you had of told us that 55 years ago when it was my turn to bring in the horses at night! Dad figured out the horses liked molasses so he did some experiments with it in their feed. Looking back I think he learnt everything from the Farmer's Almanac and Popular Mechanics magazine! rolleyes.gif

I haven't got much to show. I did make a light bar for the tractor so we can see whats around us in the orchard at night.....but the little LED lamps are a bit underpowered, so will have to get some stronger ones. Can't wear a head torch comfortably with a full face respirator on so this was the answer.

Soy Bean crop under way

I like to look at your field shot a lot, Ron. Mostly because I like the way the long shadows from the trees break the predictable farmfield pattern which would otherwise be less interesting to me.

You broke the pattern, Very nice!

In the meantime , I found mushrooms growing in my garden.

Shall I fry or boil them?

Don't worry I'll let the g/f eat them before me.

I will tell you if everything is all right................
