Brother in-laws lime tree absolutley loaded and I've got no idea how many he's taken off already but I know he is

selling them to a sister in-law for her to sell from her shop.

DSC04674.JPG

Any information on what price they get for their limes?

How many seasons a year for the fruit?

i have been thinking and thinking Shaggy. but my pond is not a lake sad.png

Hmmmmm,so you have a pond ........ducks like ponds !!!! (as in duck pond) whistling.gif

and it also doesn't have to be very big to make a duck happy.

P1000452.JPG

If I knew where you lived,I would bring a basket of these....leave them on your doorstep, knock on your door and then run away.

I am sure you would love them as your own and give them a good home thumbsup.gif

He's gonna break DAL....slowly but surely thumbsup.gif

STOP IT SHAGGY! you are breaking my heart sad.png

the pictures remind me of some of the happiest days in

my life when my neighbours called me "the duckfather".

the homeowners association gave me warnings after

warnings and referred to the clause "2 pets only". i told

them "all those with an aquarium should get rid of their

fish except two!" then they threatened to sue me and

my rebuttal was "try me and i am going to bankrupt not

only the association but personally each and every

committee @sshole responsible."

sorry, double posting.

I'm told he gets 1 baht per lime and as far as the seasons go,from what I've seen it is only one.I have not seen this tree with as good a crop as it has now.

My ex wife still runs a Thai restaurant in Sydney and prices for some fresh ingredients are such that it severely cuts into any profits. It gets cheaper in Flemington markets or out towards Cabramatta but the price of petrol evens out any savings .

You see limes in Tesco for about 2 baht each sometimes, it really make you wonder if they would be worth anyone growing commercially sad.png

Speaking of limes, I got my old neighbour kid to do some air layering this afternoon... I accidentally chopped some baby lime plants with my new neighbour w00t.gifso promised I would replace wink.png

That's Beckham in the photo, one of the best farm dogs ever.Very territorial, leader of the pack and tough as old boots.

We hit it off straight away, apart from a couple of warning nips from him on the first day.

He got the message who was boss after I got him by the scruff of the neck and pinned him to the floor...best mates after that.

I remember the night after our wedding party when a pack of dogs came to the farm looking for left overs from the party.

Beckham didn't take to kindly to them being there and so he chased all four of the off the farm and on to the neighbors land.

At some point the other dogs must of realized that they out numbered him and stop fleeing and started to attacked Beckham.

When I saw what was happening I grabbed a hefty length of bamboo and headed out towards them.It must of only taken me a

minute to reach them and swung with all my might at the nearest attacker.....a loud thud followed by an ear piecing yelp made

the other dogs stop what they were doing and run.Leaving me with poor old mauled and heavily bloodied Beckham.

I picked him up and carried him back to the farm.As I was carrying him back to the farm he was looking at me with his sad eyes,

I know that dogs can't talk but his face was saying thanks mate.

Where we lived there was no vet and so we cleaned him and tried to patch him up the best we could.

I stayed with him all that night but was sure that he wouldn't see the next dawn.

Blow m,e the next morning he was up limping around barking at the passing cars, within a couple of days he was back to his old self.

Now I can't decide if I like the photo ... or the story behind the dog more.

The story touched me also.

I never appreciated dogs until I came to Thailand*

But have learnt the usefullness and comradeship you develop with them.

Beckham just seems to have a presence about him which you captured in that photo.

*I resisted the urge to post the hyperlink ... it's a standing joke between shaggy and me ... rolleyes.gif
